I happen to be an old car junkie!
I was practically raised in a 'junk yard' on the smell of burning grease and acetylene - classics, hot-rods, rat cars, prototypes, experimental, etc!. Most of the following photos I snapped at the BACK TO THE FIFTIES event held every year in Minneapolis. Sponsered by MSRA (Minnesotra Street Rod Association), it attracts over 10,000 cars every year - rain or shine! Being a member of MSRA, I know many of the owners of the cars shown here, but one is of special interest to me - Doug Grant's Chevy - a good friend - I watched as he made his dream car come true. I watched this car progress from a rust bucket to a trully nice finished product - which wins prizes at almost every show he attends! Great job Doug! I should have taken more time with my Chevvy II!!! If you find that I tend to include a lot of Studebaker photos - there is a reason - I LOVE STUDEBAKERS - and have owned many, customized a few, and found ways to squeeze every possible horse from their little 289 and stuffed a couple with Firedome Hemmies!!! So with that said - I hope you enjoy my photo collection of HOT RODS - and a few of my personal wheels over the years!
